Nagarkot
Perched on a ridge about 32 km east of Kathmandu, Nagarkot is one of the Kathmandu Valley’s most popular hill stations. At about 2,100 m, it is best known for its sunrise and sunset views across the Himalayas. On clear days you can see Mt. Everest, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Gauri Shankar and Manaslu.
The hill is covered in pine forest and dotted with small villages and terraced fields, making it an easy escape from the city. Being only about 1.5 hours from Kathmandu, it suits short trips, first-time visitors and travelers who want mountain scenery without trekking. Many visitors come simply to relax, take gentle walks and enjoy the quiet.
